Visiting the markets and popped in here for lunch. It was really busy and couldn’t get a seat, but we left our number and walked the market for a bit. They called us and had us seated in no time. The food was fresh and tasty. I noticed a few patrons with a Bloody Mary and ordered one and wasn’t disappointed. The service from our server was friendly, fast, efficient and she was fun and entertaining. It’s crowded, chaotic, noisy in a good way and everyone was enjoying themselves. Very enjoyable experience.

I have carried the magic of the West Side Market with me since I was a child in the 60s. shopping there with my grandmother on those crisp, cold days. We didn't just buy food; we met with the vendors, shared stories, and celebrated the incredible ethnic diversity of our city—finding everything from the perfect eggs to specialty rice sausages. In fact, the market holds such a special place in my heart that I used those very memories as a setting in my book, "When the Cat Lays an Egg" (available on Amazon). Set in 1909, the story draws on that unique atmosphere of history and community that you can still feel when you walk through the market doors today. It’s a reminder that where we get our food—and who we buy it from—matters. I especially enjoy the pastry stands and the nut stand ran by Regina, Tell her her old neighbor Chris and Bobby said hi."

First time visiting Cleveland. Looking for a brunch spot prior to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame visit. Wow. Just wow. This place and the market next door were amazing. Great Lakes beer, real kielbasa sausage, super fast service. Great food. Very friendly folks. We had short wait. Just allowed us to wander the market to see what was for dessert.

No frills diner like experience just beyond all the culinary fun that is the Westside Market. Went to for breakfast/brunch before a rainy Browns game, and the atmosphere was great in that salt of the Earth way many top Cleveland places are. The food was good, I had the seasonal Benedict, the prices were fair, the service was great, and the experience overall was very enjoyable. Worth a stop if you're in the area and hungry for a bite that includes a piece of the city.

It’s simple, down to earth diner. Everything was delicious and ready really quick! My chair was sticky for some reason though but it wasn’t a big deal! 100% will be back!

We stopped by West Side Market Café while visiting Cleveland from Missouri, and it was one of the highlights of our trip! Our waitress, Cathy, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, welcoming, and took the time to recommend some local favorites. Based on her suggestion, I ordered the Big Lebowski sandwich . it did not disappoint. It was packed with flavor and definitely lived up to the hype. The service was outstanding, the food was excellent, and Cathy made us feel right at home. If you’re visiting the West Side Market, I highly recommend stopping in and giving the Big Lebowski a try. Thanks for a great experience

Came twice during 4th of July weekend. Both times we arrived around 11am and was seated immediately. Place is a bit cramped but I was comfortable. We ordered The Hot Mess which was a hefty portion of food and was delicious. We also tried the Bagel Breakfast Sandwhich with Bacon. The bacon was thickly cut and very flavorful. It was served with a side of bite size potatoes which were buttery, soft, and crispy on the outside. Also tried the Steak Egg and Cheese Wrap. I recommend all three. Food was brought out within 20 minutes. The waitresses were friendly.

There are few places in Cleveland that carry as much character and soul as the West Side Market Café. Tucked right inside the iconic West Side Market, this spot offers so much more than just a meal — it's an experience that connects you to the heart of Cleveland's food culture. The menu is simple, honest, and comforting. Whether you stop in for breakfast or lunch, everything feels homemade and made with care. The coffee is exactly what you need to warm up before wandering through the market stalls, and the food hits the spot every single time. What really sets this café apart is the atmosphere. You're surrounded by the buzz of one of the oldest and most beloved public markets in the country, with the smell of fresh bread and local produce in the air. It doesn't get more Cleveland than this. The staff is welcoming and down-to-earth — the kind of people who make you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Prices are fair and portions are solid. If you're visiting the West Side Market and skip the café, you're truly missing out. A hidden gem that deserves way more recognition. Don't walk past it — walk in. ☕🥐

A nostalgic place in Cleveland. This place is a piece of Cleveland history. A small casual café. They have quite the selection on the menu with some unique touches to it. It was busy and we were lucky to get a seat immediately. The waitress was instantly at our table. Once we ordered we didn't wait long for our food at all. You can tell fresh, and I've heard local, ingredients were used. The rosemary in the bread was so good. I got the pierogie sandwich. The food was delicious and I cannot wait to go back. There are other things on the menu I would love to try.

This is such a old school feel from the moment we walked in. Seeing the locals enjoying their morning, to the warmth and friendliness of Katie and Kathy! The food was excellent. You can tell that the servers and the kitchen crew work their tail off to make your visit enjoyable.
